Had a great and dusty time at Vernon Old Tyme Days. It was a good excuse for my dad to fire up his 1941 John Deere H. This is the kind of parade where you feel a little out of place without an antique tractor.
We just found out the result
A primary victory has been secured! 62% of the votes in a race with the incumbent Sheriff is satisfying. Now on to November!

One week till primary ballots are due! Let me know if you would like to walk with me in the Yuma County fair parade on August 10th. Let’s see if we can beat the 29 that walked in the Wray Daze parade. They did an awesome job!

Campaign season is in full throttle and I’m sending out the call for parade walkers and booth tenders. The Posse t-shirts are supposed to be done by Thursday so I’ll bring them to these events if I don’t see you earlier. I ordered a few bumper stickers, but you can get more at Country Stitches in Yuma. They have the design.
-Wray Daze Family fun night is this Friday the 23rd, from 5:30 to 10PM. We will be on the North end of Main Street in front of R&R Branded, or a couple of businesses to the South of that if another group doesn’t show up. We will be selling snow cones for $1 and being available to visit. It would be great to have some extra people there with their t-shirts on.
-We will be in the Wray Daze parade on Saturday morning the 24th. We are supposed to line up in the Shopping Center parking lot and be checked in by 9 AM. I need people to walk in the parade with me and toss candy and hand out stickers. I have a decent amount of candy, but if you wanted to bring some to toss, that would be helpful.
-The Yuma County Fair Parade is the 10th of August and we will obviously be walking in that as well. Same story with the t-shirts, candy and stickers. I don’t know the time that we have to check in for this yet, but I’ll pass that along when I get it. We will also probably try to have a booth at the fair after the parade.
-There are a couple of meet and greet events scheduled right now. Peggy McDaniel is hosting one the night of the Wray Daze parade. Give her a call if you can help with that (630-1087). Don Smith and Bill Glover are hosting one in Yuma at Quintech on the 28th. Don’s # 630-3211 and Bill’s is 597-0758.

Had a great Chad Day for Sheriff Posse meeting yesterday. Lots of motivated, encouraging, and energetic people ready take a more active role in the campaign. Primary ballots get mailed out in 8 days! I love this community. Let me know if you would like the information we went over.
